My Makeup Collection 2018 – Eyeshadows

It wasn’t until 3 years ago when I finally ditched the natural eye shadow look, and took the step into doing more complicated and intricate looks. I used to just throw some light bronzer on my eyes, add a wing, and call it a day. My life changed once I started using eyeshadows more, and in the beginning I was only warming up to using them. Now, I enjoy creating anything from a detailed cut-crease to a sultry smokey eye. These are the eyeshadow palettes and singles I currently have in my makeup collection, enjoy!

Eyeshadow Palettes

1. Colourpop “I think I Love You” Palette

To start things off this baby right here is my favorite palette. It’s perfect to achieve a smokey, sultry, bronzed eye look.

  • Blend-able & buildable
  • Features 8 metallics and 4 mattes
  • Able to create many different eye looks
  • Affordable

2. Colourpop “Give It To Me Straight Palette”

Similar to the “I Think I Love You” palette, just with different shades. Just as beautiful as “I Think I Love You”, and everything else is the same quality as well!

Pros

  • Gorgeous, pigmented colors
  • Blend-able and buildable
  • Features 5 metallics and 7 mattes
  • Can create many different looks
  • Affordable
  • Convenient

3. Colourpop “Double Entendre” Palette

Similar to the previous two, “Double Entendre” is a stunner! It features the same qualities and the colors are the only thing different!

4. Huda Beauty Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette In “Smokey”

Next up is the Huda Obsessions palette! This is the first thing I got from Huda Beauty & I’m very pleased with it. The colors are perfect for a smokey eye and they’re very pigmented!

Pros

  • Gorgeous colors; Highly pigmented
  • Easy to blend, and very build-able
  • Features 5 metallics and 4 matte shades
  • Convenient

Is it Worth Buying? •Yes!

5. NYX Dream Catcher Palette In “Stormy Skies”

Buy it here $15

NYX is my favorite drugstore brand, but this palette is a complete fail. It took me a while just to get these swatches on because it’s not very pigmented. As you can see to the left, I had to use so much of the eyeshadow just to get some color.

Pros

  • Affordable

Cons

  • Not pigmented
  • Have to use a ton of product just to get somewhat of a color
  • Texture is chalky-like and it looks chalky as well
  • Reminds me of a child’s eyeshadow palette (no pigment)

Rate: 2/10

Is It Worth Buying? •No!

6. Urban Decay Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette

Buy it here $54

Urban Decay is a popular brand known for their “Naked” palettes. I decided to get the Naked 3 palette about a year and a half ago, which features a pink-toned range of shades. It does last a while and the colors are pretty but the glittery shades have to be applied wet to actually get thick, shiny colors on there.

Pros

  • Pretty pink-toned eyeshadows
  • Convenient
  • Blend-able and buildable
  • Pigmented
  • Can create many different looks

Cons

  • Pricey at $54
  • Metallic/shiny shades need to be wet to make them stick to the lid and get a nice shimmer
  • Produces a lot of fallout onto your cheek

Rate: 6/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes and No (you can find similar palettes a lot cheaper with better quality)

7. Covergirl Tru Naked Eyeshadow Palette In 805 “Nudes”

Buy It Here $9.39

Covergirl is a great brand for buying dupes for high-end brands. This palettes shimmery colors, to me, have more pigment and less fallout than Urban Decays Naked 3 palette. This is a great choice is you’re looking to spend less money on a palette.

Pros

  • Pigmented
  • Build-able and blendable
  • Affordable
  • Convenient
  • Features 4 shimmery and 4 matte shades

Cons

  • Just a little bit chalky

Rate: 8/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes!

8. Colourpop Custom 4 Shade Palette ft. “Bel Air”, “Ringer”, “Lil Boat” and “Board Shorts”

Buy “Bel Air” here $4 (pan only)
Buy “Ringer” here $4 (pan only)
Buy “Lil Boat” here $4 (pan only)
Buy “Board Shorts” here $4 (pan only)

I picked out these four shadows from Colourpop and made my own palette which is bronze and nude shades. When you buy four single shadows (not in the compact) they give you a free empty palette, well at least they did in the summer of 2017. Colourpop’s eyeshadows never disappoint me!

Pros

  • You can make your own palette
  • Blend-able and buildable
  • Lots of shades to choose from
  • Affordable
  • High quality

Cons

None!

Rate: 10/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes!

9. Colourpop Custom 4 Shade Paletteft “Made To Last”, “Pretty Cruel”, “Dreamboat”, and “Cute Alert”

Buy “Cute Alert” here $4 (pan only)
Buy “Made To Last” here $4 (pan only)
Buy “Pretty Cruel” here $4 (pan only)

Another custom four-shade palette from Colourpop! This palette I put together has pinky shades in it. “Prettt Cruel” is the only shade that has some sparkles in it.

Pros

  • You can make your own palette
  • Blend-able and buildable
  • Lots of shades to choose from
  • Affordable
  • High quality

Cons

None!

Rate: 10/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes!

10. Tartelette In Bloom Amazonian Clay Eyeshadow Palette

Buy it here $46

I didn’t put a picture of my Tartelette In Bloom palette because I hit most of the pans, and because I accidentally broke the mirror! I’ve had this palette for almost two years and I still love it!

Pros

  • Has 12 different eyeshadows
  • Is made by a trusted brand
  • Convenient
  • Blend-able and buildable
  • Has three metallics and 9 mattes

Cons

  • Pricey at $46

Rate: 9/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes!

10. NYX – The Natural Eyeshadow Palette

Buy it here $8.50

Even though the other NYX palette sucked, this one made up for it! This palette is great for a natural eye look but I mostly use some of the shades as transition shades.

Pros

  • Convenient
  • Blend-able and buildable
  • Affordable

Cons

  • Only one dark color
  • A little bit chalky

Rate: 7/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes!

Single Eyeshadows

1. Colourpop Super Star Loose Pigment Shadow In “Wknd”

Buy “Wknd” here $5

By now can you tell how much I love Colourpop? When I tried this loose pigment, my life changed. This color is so pretty and it sticks to the skin without even needing a primer (of course primer makes it better!)

Pros

  • Lots of loose pigment shades to choose from
  • Pigmented and very sparkly
  • Affordable

Cons

None!

Rate: 10/10

Is It Worth Buying? •Yes!

Buy “Wedge” here $16

2. Mac Eyeshadow In “Wedge”

Browsing through Mac when I was in freshman year of high school, I came across this shade that was perfect for the natural eyeshadow looks I used to do. Now, this shadow is the perfect transition shade when I’m doing a more detailed eye look.

Pros

  • Pretty colors
  • A lot of shades to choose from
  • Wedge is a great natural shade and transition shade

Cons

  • Expensive, for just one eyeshadow it’s $16

Rate: 7/10

Is It Worth Buying? •No! (You can find similar shades for a lot cheaper)

Thank you for reading! I hope this helped you in some way, shape or form. Comment and tell me if you have any of these! If so, which one(s)? If you don’t have any, comment your favorite!
